I am not coping well with my life right now, and I am looking for support. I understand that many of you were upset with my use of the -N- word, here's something interesting. I'm gonna try to meditate, though I think I'm sick with worms...
anyway, enjoy these enlightening movies, I learned a lot, let me know what you learn! :D I hope this is enlightening ( watchohs )

Hey all!
I'm studying here in Paris for the semester, and next week my friends and I have a week off. We want to explore France--we've already been to Normandy and the Loire Valley, but we want to explore other areas.... Any suggestions?
Maybe even some other places in Europe, as long as it's cheap? Suggestions with cheap travel is a must, as we're all pretty much broke. BROKE, broke, since most of us are living off an allowance from our universities/personal savings. I would totally appreciate it!!
Thanks!

There is some GREAT art around here, and I'm hoping I can get some help :)
I have discovered my bank account a little bit fuller than I was expecting so I would like to get one of my planned tattoos. I think "to thine own self be true" is better suited to the life phase I'm in, but I'd love some suggestions for font and placement. I don't tend to like anything too "Gothic" or scrolly in nature - I like a sans serif font.
As to placement - over my heart seems to make the most "sense" ... but how was healing? I'm a big girl with boobs to match, and I'm wondering how much the bra makes things worse :s
Also, is there any imagery that comes to mind that reinforces this idea? I'd be okay with text-only, and I could add imagery later... just thinking out loud I guess. Stylewise I'm a little bit in love with this artist, after discovering his page 5 mins ago ;)
Placement: how about the wrists? it's a lot of text for one, but I could put "to thine own self" on one side and "be true" on the other...? I dunno.
Thanks in advance for all your input! And if you read this far, I'll give you a not-so-text-only treat: my back and my right calf. 2 of the 6 tats I have currently, with plans for 3 more (including this one).
Also sorry for the crossposting ~blush~

| Wee hour thoughts! |
[07 Nov 2009|01:30am] |
Hello! These days and nights of mine have been full of musings, thoughts, self-reflections, wise words from cherished ones, and music. No matter what is happening in my life, there is always music attached as if it were tangible! There is a specific song that is haunting me tonight, and has appeared from time to time in the last weeks, in and out. Moments call for certain songs. I can't explain it, but I'm sure a few of you would understand.
( Now the dark air is like fire on my skin and even the moonlight is blindin.' )

Hay guys,
After having bright pink(ish) hair for a year and a half, I decided to change things up and become one with autumn by doing a natural reddish color instead.
Look at my hairs because I'm quite pleased that this didn't end up a fried mess, or some nasty puke-based color. ( Pink to natural red! )
This process was not actually that daunting (although the stripping/bleaching routine is extremely tedious), and my hair is completely fine and healthy even though it felt like it started to turn into mush while the bleach was on my head. I did use some kind of deep conditioning shit... and yeah, I'm pretty happy with it, so I thought I'd share.

Just out of curiosity, do you think it's lame or cool to get multiple tattoos in the same font?
I'm curious about your personal views of your own tattoos or would-be tattoos.

| China... is so out of touch |
[06 Nov 2009|07:40pm] |
The Chinese government actually believes that it is going to be allowed to choose the next Dalai Lama, by finding and promoting his reincarnation. You have got to be kidding me. Any Tibetan Buddhist (or Buddhist otherwise) with more than eleven brain cells would never accept that.

Has China never considered... the utter asinine transparency of declaring themselves Atheist, being violently oppressive to many, and thinking that others will trust them to make religious decisions for a religion they've excoriated and persecuted for decades?

| EE Cummings tattoo |

Hi all! Long-time lurker and occasional commenter, I have my first literary (and second overall) tattoo to share with you! I got it three weeks ago; the first two pictures were taken just after I removed the bandage, about four hours after I got it. The last one was taken this morning and is off-center because I took it on self-timer mode, haha. Anyway, I love it, it turned out exactly how I pictured it.
( Cut for big pictures, features my nekkid back )
It's from the EE Cummings poem "My father moved through dooms of love." I've been writing poetry since I was 12 and one of my majors in undergrad was creative writing; I'd been wanting a literary tattoo after ogling lots of lovely literary tattoos here and elsewhere but I wanted the quote to find me. I was reading a collection of Cummings's work and came across this poem, and the line immediately jumped out at me and I knew I wanted it. I sat on the idea for 4-5 months while I debated about font (settled on Lainie Day) and some other details.

i'm thinking of getting a quote from the sound and the fury by william faulkner tattooed on me. it's not extremely long, but it's long enough that i am struggling with a good placement, i guess. ( quote and placement question! )

Gustav Klimt is my favorite artist. I discovered last fall that he's also my Great-Aunt Helen's favorite, which strikes me as poetic and brilliant.
I was personally "challenged" recently to let the vintage gowns drop. Well, if I focus on artistic nudes, these are my very favorites. ;)
