Finally got my second tattoo (first literary) after 5 years.
The quote is from Oscar Wilde's "An Ideal Husband" and it's done in Jane Austen's handwriting. (Handwriting means the lettering is not perfect and yes, I know it isn't.)

Hi there! I am seriously considering doing a study exchange in Finland. I was wondering if you worldly folks could give me any pros and cons you know of about Finland. I am from the US, so obviously the exchange rate is a bit of a con, but I can work around that. Thanks so much :)

Hi!! I'm new, check out some stuff!! I've been doing ceramics hardcore for about a year, but I had done a class here and there up until that point. Now I stay way late into the evening after school :D I've also done tons more, but this is the stuff that I'm putting in the portfolio I send to colleges, so it's already on my computer. Nothing that I've done on the wheel is particularly outstanding, either, but I can throw, I'm not just a handbuilder. ( Read more... )

moving back to mishawaka this month. there is a kitty without a name there, and he is waiting for my love. the winter shouldn't be too dreadful, and it is my last one here. in may, college will be done, my twenty-third birthday will happen, and i will be moving. though i may wait until august, because if everything goes according to schedule, that is when i should be ready for my blackbelt test. we'll see how that goes, and whether or not i'll just need to resume my martial arts instruction at another dojo. getting a blackbelt is not something that needs to be rushed. i want to do martial arts for the rest of my life. my main motivation in striving for august, really, was just to have accomplished certain tasks before leaving home and beginning the next phase, not because i want the glory of having a blackbelt before i've actually earned it. i feel my crossroads are approaching in the middle months of next year. where i am to move, i haven't decided. i've been considering northern michigan, because it is far away, close to canada, and absolutely beautiful... but affordable housing in marquette doesn't seem very easy to come by, and i don't know if i could handle the long, dark, and cold seasons. next alternative, kalamazoo, which is actually more likely. wednesday i'm going to meet with a college advisor to advise me (i have little faith in taking advice from any insitution-appointed figure because i am still under the illusion that i am a special person with special values), because i don't know what i'm doing. i do know i need to figure out whether or not i am going to be able to do a study abroad program in india, thailand, or nepal, which would be lovely and worth the thousands of dollars of debt, or if i will have to seek alternative methods of getting there. whatever the case...i haven't responded to anyone's texts in a few days, and someone is starting to get nervous and call me from numbers he doesn't think i'll recognize, but i still don't have the energy to communicate with him...not even long enough to tell him it's nothing personal at all. today i only have the strength to writhe involuntarily in feminine pain. also, i am still dying every second and everything is just fine.

In October, I posted pictures from my mum's friend's autumn-themed exhibit. Now, a couple weeks before Christmas, she's got her Christmas stuff up: advent wreaths, decorations, seasonal designs. I thought the pictures fit perfectly with the theme of this month. ( Christmas is almost here. )

| King Ashoka's edicts. |
[07 Dec 2009|10:00pm] |
" Piyadasi, King of Magadha, saluting the Sangha and wishing them good health and happiness, speaks thus:[36] You know, reverend sirs, how great my faith in the Buddha, the Dhamma and Sangha is. Whatever, reverend sirs, has been spoken by Lord Buddha, all that is well-spoken.[37] I consider it proper, reverend sirs, to advise on how the good Dhamma should last long.
These Dhamma texts -- Extracts from the Discipline, the Noble Way of Life, the Fears to Come, the Poem on the Silent Sage, the Discourse on the Pure Life, Upatisa's Questions, and the Advice to Rahula which was spoken by the Buddha concerning false speech -- these Dhamma texts, reverend sirs, I desire that all the monks and nuns may constantly listen to and remember.[38] Likewise the laymen and laywomen. I have had this written that you may know my intentions. "

For a long time I have wanted to get a Leonard Cohen tattoo, and I think I have finally decided what I would like to get but wouldn't mind hearing some opinions. On my upper right arm, facing my body, I am planning on getting "Let's be other people" in a simple cursive script. The quote is from Cohen's novel "Beautiful Losers" and I decided to get it on my right arm as I am right handed and a (aspiring)fiction writer, so I often become other people when I write - this is the main inspiration behind my tattoo, as writing is such an integral part of my life and Leonard means a lot to me. But I wanted to know what everyone else thought, and also if there are any of you who also have, or are planning to have, any Leonard Cohen tattoos? All the ones I have found are Hallelujah related, but I think that all of Leonard's words are so beautiful that any of them would make lovely tattoos.

| Question... |

Hello group. I have a question to ask all of you...
There are some places I wish to post here, however I do not wish to disclose their names. All the historical information will be included and factual, but I would like to use an alias. Additionally, if I make a post in which I am using an alias, I will state it up-front.
My reasoning for this is that I recently made an entry about a location (not on here, on my myspace page) which was taken and posted to an "Urban Explorers" website. The location was then ransacked... The entry has since been removed from the site, but the damage is done.
I now feel guilty to have brought such damage to this place I wrote about. A place, which until I photographed it, sat safely and quietly in the woods. My feeling are that if I'm doing a dis-service to the location, then what I am doing is counter-productive. I wish to share these places out of respect to them, and the history they represent. Most, if not all, of you here treat these places with a high regard. This is made obvious by the passion in which you all write, be it as a post or comment. I greatly enjoy the feeling of "community" here, and hope my inquiry does not offend anyone...
Just wanted input. If it is a problem I will simply not post the locations.
Also, I forgot to post this image with my Bennett School entry. Which is a shame, because it's my favourite exterior shot...

I recently added Manic Panic's Purple Haze amplified to the MP Hot Hot Pink that I've had in my bangs for a month now. The colors look super pretty together and I absolutely love it!

| MORNING SEX. |

So I would think that most of you agree with the fact that a.m. sexy time ROCKS. Lately though(past few months), thats ALL the bf wants to do. If I get sex at all, its always right when i'm waking up, which is usually reaaally early. I've had sex at night/afternoon mabye once or twice in the past month and i'm not happy about it! We used to do it every single night. I love morning sex dont get me wrong, but its usually really passive and each of us have 1 goal: getting ourselves off. No foreplay, no kissing, just straight up p in vagEEE! I miss getting frisky at night. I'm almost ALWAYS horny right before going to sleep. I mean were both half naked snuggled up to eachother how can i not??? I miss all the drawn-out foreplay and sex toys and just getting more INTO it, yknow?
So i'm just wondering, how can i get him to be in the mood at night again? I come onto him and hint that I want it, but he either doesnt get it or is ignoring me. I would just like some advice to spice up the nightime again. Has this happened to anyone else?
and i know i know, i should TALK to him about it. I just feel like talking about it makes the actual sex afterward really awkward...
